Guidelines for Periodicals Reading Area (Library on Huaihai Road )
Reading Area Regulations
1. Readers may enter the reading area and access Chinese and foreign language periodicals with a valid Shanghai Library reader's card.
2. A maximum of 6 open-shelf periodicals may be taken at a time, and after reading the periodicals, please place them in the designated book return cart.
3. For access to periodicals stored in closed stacks, readers should go to the service desk for closed stack periodicals and, with a reader's card, you may request up to 6 periodicals at a time.
4. Please take care of the library materials and refrain from annotating, altering, folding, soiling, cutting, tearing, or swapping pages. Violators will be handled in accordance with the "Interim Measures for Compensation for Borrowed Materials from the Shanghai Library."
5. Please use electrical outlets only in designated areas and refrain from using unauthorized power sources to ensure electrical safety.
6. Place bags (larger than 14*20 cm), publications not from this reading area (including your own books and periodicals) and food in the designated storage area.
7. Maintain a quiet environment in the library and keep mobile communication devices on silent mode. Eating, drinking colored beverages, and consuming sugary drinks are prohibited in the reading area.
