On July 17, 2026, a delegation of two, led by Director Irina Lizunova of the State Public Scientific Technological Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPSTL SB RAS), visited the Shanghai Library East. Chen Chao, Director of Shanghai Library extended a warm welcome and hosted the delegation.
Director Chen introduced the recent developments of Shanghai Library and the construction and operation of the Shanghai Library East. Director Lizunova expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and provided an overview of the main developments at the State Public Scientific Technological Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She also expressed her hope that this meeting would lay a good foundation for future collaboration between the two institutions.
Following the meeting, Director Chen Chao accompanied Director Lizunova on a tour of key areas, including the Treasured Collections Library on the 7th floor, the “Themed Recommended Literature: Commemorating the 205th Anniversary of Dostoevsky’s Birth” exhibition in the Performing Arts Gallery on the 5th floor, and the Smart Bookshelves and Reading Plaza on the 3rd floor and so on.
