On July 7, 2025, a four-member delegation led by Ms. Xiao Long, Director of the Macau University of Science and Technology Library, visited the Shanghai Library East. Mr. Xu Qiang, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Library, welcomed the delegation, and the two parties held a meeting in Conference Room No. 1. Deputy Director Xu gave an introduction to the Shanghai Library's collection features, the operations of the Library East, and its development plans for the 15th Five-Year period. Director Xiao mentioned that libraries in Macau generally face challenges with limited space. The Macau University of Science and Technology Library also serves as the university's archives and is undergoing digital transformation while drawing inspiration from public libraries in organizing small-scale thematic exhibitions. To prepare for their next five-year plan, the Macau University of Science and Technology Library hopes to learn from the Shanghai Library East about green building design, space utilization, and modern library management models to maximize efficiency within constrained spaces. Following the discussion, Deputy Director Xu accompanied the delegation on a tour of the "Millennium Promise" immersive exhibition, the seventh-floor Treasured Collections Library, the third-floor smart shelves and Reading Plaza, and the "Cambridge University Magical World" exhibition.

Staff members from the Reading Promotion Center, Research and Consultation Center, Digital Resources Center, Research Office, and Cooperation & Exchange Department also participated in the meeting.
