On January 6, 2026, a ceremony was held in Shanghai to mark the dispatch of donated vehicles and "Shanghai Window" books to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Two SAIC MG SUVs, painted with the message "Love from the People of Shanghai, China," will support local municipal and community services. Nearly 300 books from the "Shanghai Window" project will be housed in institutions such as the Ouagadougou Multimedia Library and the New Dawn University.The event was attended by Zhao Yongfeng, Director of the Social Development Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress; Yang Chunhua, Party Secretary of the Shanghai Library; Jing Ying, First-Level Inspector of the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and President of the Shanghai Promotion Association; Su Lin, Vice President of the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Ding Feiping, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Charity Foundation; and representatives from charitable enterprises, including Zhang Wen, who shared insights during the exchange.In her speech on behalf of the Shanghai Library, Party Secretary Yang Chunhua expressed gratitude to the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office for their long-term commitment to promoting international friendship and supporting the library's initiatives. She noted the honor of witnessing the dispatch of vehicles and books to Ouagadougou, expressing hope that the books would serve as a bridge for mutual understanding between the peoples of both cities and allow the residents of Ouagadougou to experience the profound depth of Chinese culture. Following the exchange, Secretary Yang Chunhua joined the guests in unveiling the donated vehicles and books and posed for group photographs.
