On November 7, 2023, Dr Mr. Sharif Maoulana, Union des Comoros Ambassador to China, Mr. Toiwilou Mze Hamadi, Director of the National Literature Center of the Comoros, and Mr. Alexandros Iliakis, Director of the Central Library of the National Technical University of Athens, accompanied by five representatives from CNKI, visited the Shanghai Library East and was received by Deputy Director Xu Qiang.
Accompanied by Deputy Director Xu Qiang, Mr. Ambassador and the other distinguished guests visited the book sorting system on the 1st floor, Reading Forest, gift shop, the Reading Square on the 3rd floor, intelligent bookshelves, the Music Library on the fifth floor, and the Treasured Collections Library on the 7th floor. Finally, they went to the Exhibition Center and visited the "Great Han Style" exhibition of the Han Dynasty rubbings and rare books in the Shanghai Library collection.
Ambassador Maoulana expressed his admiration for the rich collection of the Shanghai Library and sincerely thanked Deputy Director Xu Qiang and the librarians for their warm reception. Director Mr. Iliakis hopes to have a deeper and closer cooperation with the Shanghai Library in the future, and he wishes that the "Window of Shanghai" project can be implemented at the National Technical University of Athens as soon as possible.
