Slovenian book corner launched at Shanghai Library
A special chess contest was held at thecataloging hallof Shanghai Library on the afternoon of June 25, 2018. This was part of the ceremony held by the Consulate of Slovenia in Shanghai to celebrate the country’s Statehood Day and the opening of the Slovenian book corner in the library.
Thanks to the Belt and Road Initiative, China and Slovenia have witnessed more frequentexchanges and tighter cooperation in culture and economy. Through the “Window of Shanghai” project, Shanghai Library has partnered with Ljubljana City Library andUniversity Library of University of Nova Gorica to bring traditional Chinese culture to local readers. The launch of the Slovenian book corner at Shanghai Library will provide an opportunity for Chinese readers to learn more about cultures around the world.
Bojan Skoda, Consul General of Slovenia, Jing Ying, vice president of Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Chen Chao, director of Shanghai Library, delivered their speeches during the opening ceremony.
