Academic annual conference of Shanghai Society for Library Science kicks off
Organized by Shanghai Society for Library Science and Shanghai Library (Institute of Scientific & Technical Information of Shanghai), the academic annual conference of Shanghai Society for Library Science was held on December 14-15 at East China Normal University. Nearly 1,000 colleagues from local public libraries, the National Library of China and university libraries attended the one-and-a-half-day conference, which included 10 parallel sessions. The live streaming of the conference received 3,079 views from all over the world, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Cambodia and Egypt.
With the theme of “Retrospecting the past four decades and looking into the future,” the conference had 10 parallel session, the largest number compared with previous ones. It also invited prestigious experts including Ge Jianxiong, Chen Chao, Fan Bingsi and Lu Da to deliver keynote speeches, which depicted the development history of library science and plans the direction of future development.
