China’s 1st MR digital library unveiled in Beijing
China’s first MR (Mixed Reality) digital library drew the attention of readers when it was unveiled at the 15th Beijing International Book Festival in August 2017.
By wearing the MR glasses HoloLens and staring at the images on the wall, a reader can open and read the correspondent “books” like he or she does in a traditional library. What is different in an MR digital library is that the books are living – the contents are animated instead of static.
The new technology can remarkably enhance the reading experience and diversify the forms of publications. Through the latest media format, China’s first MR library enables the real-time interaction between books and readers, creating a new era of reading.
