The Shanghai Library Delegation Visited Slovenia and Serbia

On April 24, Ye Ruqiang, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Library Council, and the Shanghai Library team visited the Ljubljana Municipal Library, the “Window of Shanghai" partner in Slovenia, and was warmly received by Ms. Jelka Gazvoda, Director of the library and other librarians.

Director Jelka Gazvoda first gave the delegation a brief introduction to the Ljubljana Municipal Library and its future development, and accompanied the delegation to visit the library, especially the "Window of Shanghai" area.


Vice Chairman Ye Ruqiang presented Director Jelka Gazvoda a set of “Creating the World - Comic Books Series on Chinese Creation Myths” in both Chinese and English, with a view to introduce more excellent Chinese culture stories to local readers.


On April 27, the Shanghai Library delegation visited Serbia and was warmly received by Vice President of the Belgrade Municipal Government and the “Far East Society”. Both sides expressed their willingness to promote the library development and the cultural exchanges between China and Serbia, and specifically discussed the details concerning the exhibition of Nikola Tesla (famous Serbian-American inventor) in the Shanghai Library in September.


At the Cultural Center of the University of Belgrade, the Shanghai Library delegation watched the local students' Chinese cultural performances and presented the “Creating the World” picture books to the "Far East Society", which was warmly received by the local librarians and readers.
