“Uzbekistan Glamour” Photo Show Held at Shanghai Library
 
 
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Uzbekistan, and strengthen the communication and cooperation between Shanghai and important countries along the so-called “One Belt, One Road”, sponsored by the Information Office under Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Tashkent Municipal Government, Uzbekistan Academy of Fine Arts, Tashkent Family of Photographers, and Uzbekistan Consulate General in Shanghai, and co-sponsored by Shanghai Library, “Uzbekistan Glamour” photo show was held at Catalogue Hall of Shanghai Library during March 15-21, 2017.
In recent years, the communication between Shanghai and Uzbekistan bore rich fruits: In 2016, “Shanghai Glamour” photo show was held at the “Family of Photographers” of National Gallery of Uzbekistan; Uzbekistan youth went to “Shanghai International Youth’s Camp Friendship” … especially, the “Window of Shanghai” project of Shanghai Library donated to Confucius Institute in Samarkand, Uzbekistan a large number of books and audiovisual products about China, spreading Chinese culture and introducing the latest developments of Shanghai and China in economy, society and culture to local students.
The photo show would display more than 50 photos that reflect the nature, history, humanity and economy of Uzbekistan as a traditional and modern country. Vice mayor of Tashkent Mr. Baxtiyar Rakhmonov, head of Uzbekistan Academy of Fine Arts Mr. Akmal Nuriddinov, and consul general for Uzbekistan in Shanghai Mr. Saidkamol Agzamkhodjaev had a cordial meeting with vice president of Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Ms. Jing Ying, vice chairman of Shanghai Library Council Mr. Ye Ruqiang, director of Shanghai Library Mr. Chen Chao, and director of the Information Office under Shanghai Municipal People’s Government Mr. Tang Shifen, and then, all attended the opening ceremony.
