Astronomy is a visible science. For thousands of years, people used their naked eyes to observe stars and made records on what they observed. 400 years ago, for the first time, Galileo pointed his telescope to the sky, thus strengthening human capabilities of observing and studying the universe. In the following 350 years, the potential of this mysterious device was limited to a small section in the electromagnetic spectrum that can be sensed by the eyes. It is only in the past 50 years that we finally made a series of technical advances, with which we could make in-depth explorations into the hidden universe: radio radiation, infrared radiation, ultra-violet radiation, and X-ray radiation...
